One Degree Organic foods puts a lot of work into their food. And I don’t mean just processing the raw food but, I really mean understanding where each ingredient comes from.  Looking at their website alone, you can see the commitment when they show faces of farmers who produce the listed ingredients. One degree organic foods comes with a story. When it comes to their Sprouted Oat Quinoa Cacao Granola the story isn’t different there either.  The name of the product also tells you the key ingredients you’ll find.

Opening the pouch, you’ll find that the granola will actually come out in clump. This is something I appreciate because it’s like they already come in pre-portioned bite sizes.  Of course, if you don’t like this, the clumps are easier enough to break up. The granola is easy to chew and isn’t too stiff or crunchy. On their own, they’re a little dry, but not unbearable.  My addition of fruits and yogurt really helped to add more moisture. Be mindful of the noise from the crunch factor: there are big crunches from the oats, and smaller ones from the quinoa. From a flavour standpoint, the cacao (not cocoa, there’s a difference) is really helps to keep the sweetness level down and keep all flavours on the same playing field.  With brown rice syrup and sugar can, there is a worry that the granola would be too sweet. I don’t think you’d have to worry about that too much with this granola variation.  The second flavour that comes through is the neutrally sweet earthy flavour of the oats. With these two flavours together, you can expect to satisfy your chocolate craving without feeling any guilt!

I can appreciate that the packaging is resealable, and travel-sized.  I’ve taken this pouch to work and now it’s more healthier alternative for a snack bag.  It isn’t too messy, and it helps to satiated the hunger for a while.
