Jess Pirnak

Jess is a Registered Dietitian & Certified Wellness Coach based in Vancouver, British Columbia. She graduated from UBC’s Food Nutrition and Health program, and completed her dietetic internship with Provincial Health Services Authority after finishing a Psychology degree from SFU.

Jess is passionate about education, prevention and creating a healthy community. She is an advocate for the power of food and its connection to health. With an extensive background in retail dietetics Jess understands the natural food sector and the importance of a sustainable food system. She is also the in-house dietitian advisor for the Canadian Celiac Association – Vancouver Chapter. Her focus is in plant-based eating, celiac disease and gut health.

Nadine Grzeskowiak

Nadine Grzeskowiak, RN BSN CEN is a nurse specializing in celiac disease, non-celiac gluten sensitivity and intestinal health. She is an expert consultant, professional speaker, author, podcaster and research enthusiast. After 15 years of nursing experience in emergency, trauma and critical care, Nadine founded three successful independent Nurse owned and operated businesses, RN On Call, Inc., Gluten Free RN and Celiac Nurse Consulting in February 2007.

Nadine has delivered numerous lectures and seminars internationally, consults with individuals and families, has written Dough Nation: A Nurse’s Memoir of Celiac Disease from Missed Diagnosis to Food and Health Activism and is co-authoring a textbook on celiac disease. Nadine also leads international gluten free and Paleo travel groups.  

Nadine enjoys spending time with her family, friends, knitting, hiking, mountain climbing, reading, cooking and eating excellent meals and traveling all over the world.

Shelley Case, RD

A leading international expert on the gluten-free diet, Shelley is a registered dietitian, author, speaker and consultant with more than 35 years’ experience. She is a member of the Medical Advisory Board of the Celiac Disease Foundation and the Canadian Celiac Association’s Professional Advisory Council.

In recognition of Shelley’s major contributions to the field of celiac disease and dedication to educating health professionals and individuals with celiac disease and gluten sensitivity, she was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Golden Jubilee Medal.

Marcia Bruce

Marcia Bruce is a local blogger who is passionate about raising awareness of celiac disease and supporting gluten free businesses that make the lives of people with celiac disease better.

Marcia and her husband were both diagnosed with celiac disease within months of each other after being married for almost 20 years! Together they have three children. Marcia is also on the Board of Directors for the Calgary Chapter of the Canadian Celiac Association where she hopes to make an impact to the celiac community.
